Some big domain sales were sex.com, business.com, vodka.com,mortage.com etc. There are a lot of people in domaining industry. People register thousand of domains, sell them, buy from other and they make more money than those who have websites.But not all domain names sell. 1. Keyword domains
Domain sales because they can be used in websites. So, if you have a domain name with good keyword then people will buy it because the keyword can bring visitors to the website hence,profit.
2. Short domains
Short domains can be used as acronym, so they are hottest domains. Now, worst LLLL.com domains sell for not less than 60 dollars which were free to register 6 months ago.
3. Typo domains
Mortage.com is the example. Its a typo for mortgage but sold for $242400. The basic idea is people mistype a word and arrive in typo domains. They can make money when being parked if not by selling.
