You can start with Stumbleupon. Buy stumbles for 5$ from stumbleupon and give some initial exposure to your proxy. You can also exchange Stumbleupons in Forums. There are hundreds of people exchanging Stumbleupon bookmarks. Digg is also great way to get visitors but Stumbleupon works for long time. You can also try bookmarking site to several bookmarking site. I use services from people in DP who charges around 10$ for a site bookmarked in 100 social bookmarking sites. Once people find your site, they will tell their friends about your site, because as I said earlier proxy site is used by so many people. If one student find your site then he will tell his 10 friends about your site. And what if that 100 social bookmarks bring your 100 users? If 50 of them told 5 of their friends then you’ll get 250 visitors daily. They might even blog about your site and imaging you will be getting a lot of free advertising. And if you want to even more traffic then you can exchange link with people. Submit your site to proxy top sites. And you can also try newsletter service. You can send your site to thousands of people with newsletters. You’ll find lots of people providing newsletter marketing for cheap price in DP. I am not saying you to always use this, just use it for couple of time so your site will get initial exposure.
Now you can just put Adsense on your site and start earning. And as I said earlier, you might just sell your proxy site. And create another. Or you may even create a proxy network of your own.
